If you are not getting married in a church setting and are looking for an officiant
to perform your ceremony, here are a few questions to ask yourself and of
course the officiant.
- Is the
officiant available on your wedding day?
- Can the
officiant travel to your chosen wedding site?
- Does
he/she charge a standard fee and if so, what does it cover?
- Is the
officiant willing to discuss non-traditional wedding ceremonies and traditions?
-
Does the officiant require pre-marital or religious counseling before getting
married?
- Will
the officiant let you specify ceremony details such as music, readings and
vows?
- Do they
have sample vows and readings to show you?
- Is the
officiant available for a ceremony rehearsal?
- And of
course, after meeting with the officiant, ask yourself if you think they are
a right fit for you.
Did
they seem genuinely interested in you as a couple?
- Also, if you feel
like you need some help with creating your vows ask your officiant to assist.
